Mediators

MIAC does not have a list of mediators. Appointments follow the Rules on Appointment and Confirmation of Mediators. 

The following bodies participate in the mediator appointment and confirmation procedure: the General Secretariat and the Mediator Appointment Committee.

The Center’s mediator appointment procedure is highly rights-based and party oriented. It allows for the parties to freely agree on the mediator or mediators. Where there is no agreement between the parties, the Center shall appoint the mediators. To this end, the Center shall submit to the parties a list of prospective mediators.

The names of the mediators who act in MIAC proceedings will be published in this website. The publication will include the name of the mediator, as well as nationality, origin of the appointment (parties or Center) and if the proceedings in which they are participating are ongoing or concluded.
